At Alpha Care and Share, we believe that home should be a place where you feel safe, supported, and in control of your life. Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services are designed to help you live as independently as possible — while still having the day-to-day support you need.
Whether you’re moving out of home for the first time or looking for a more supportive living environment, we work alongside you to create a home that reflects your goals, choices, and lifestyle.
What is SIL?
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is NDIS-funded support for people who need help with daily tasks while living in a shared or individual home. SIL is designed to build your independence, while giving you the support you need to feel comfortable and confident at home
What SIL looks like with us:
Every person is different — so is every SIL arrangement. We work with you (and your support network) to tailor a living situation that suits your preferences and support needs.
Our SIL supports can include:
- Help with personal care – showering, grooming, dressing
- Meal planning and cooking
- Medication management
- Household tasks – cleaning, laundry, budgeting
- Support with routines and building daily living skills
- Support to attend appointments, work, or social activities
- Emotional support, companionship, and building confidence
- 24/7 support, sleepover shifts or active overnight, if needed
We support people to live their own lives, not just fit into a program. That means:
✔ You’re involved in decisions
✔ You have privacy and space when you want it
✔ You can pursue your own hobbies, routines, and goals
✔ You live in a home that feels like yours
Who is SIL for?
SIL is best for people who:
- Have higher support needs and require help every day
- Want to live in a shared home with others or in their own place with 24/7 supports
- Have SIL included in their NDIS plan under Core Supports
If you’re not sure whether SIL is right for you, we can talk you through your options — including Individualised Living Options (ILO) and drop-in support, which might be more flexible depending on your needs.
